Ghost of Yotei’s long-awaited New Game Plus mode is finally here, giving those that wanted a bit more replayability out of the game an outlet to slice and dice enemies to their heart’s content. Not only does the game have new armor sets, a new graphics mode, and several quality of life improvements, but you can also replay challenge content as much as you like now to really test out your combat skills and play the part of a lone samurai.
Unfortunately, as highly anticipated as this New Game Plus mode was, there are quite a lot of fans that are finding it rather lacking, and still think that Ghost of Yotei is missing a bunch of key features that would have made the game even more enjoyable.
Ghost Of Yotei Fans Are Still Calling For Transmog And More Loadout Slots
On the PS5 subreddit, in a post discussing the new update and mode, you can find a fair few people disappointed that certain features didn’t make the cut. For example, a user called Raithian25 is disappointed that the update doesn’t include a canter for your horse, annoyed that it will either “walk at a glacial pace or gallop at the speed of light.”

Atsu has a few different outfits in Ghost of Yotei, but which ones are the very best?
Another user called Chaosbleeds91 is upset that the update only adds a single new loadout slot, saying that they’d at least like to have “the option at least to have a loadout for every armor set.” It’s a pretty popular complaint too, with another user calling it a “baffling decision” not to include anymore.
However, one of the most popular complaints in the thread is Ghost of Yotei’s lack of a transmog system, something which has become increasingly common in big budget RPGs over the years. A user called (sigh) Queef-Elizabeth says that they wish they had the ability to “wear something different without having to swap out the stats and abilities that come with the gear.” Another user called GrimMrGoodbar added to the complaint, annoyed that “too many armors have useless assassination stats” and resented having to stick with armor they didn’t really want to use.
Of course, Sucker Punch doesn’t seem to be done with Ghost of Yotei just yet, so it’s possible we may see these little features added in future updates. We’ll have to wait and see how much post-launch support Sucker Punch actually wants to put into the game, and fingers crossed that at least a couple of these complaints are about to be ticked off a list somewhere.
