How To See The True Ending In Kirby Air Riders

Kirby Air Riders is far from your typical racer, and one of the biggest examples of that is its surprisingly dense story mode, Road Trip, which has you making your way through tons of challenges to face the final boss.

Everything you need to know about placing your pre-order for Kirby Air Riders.

Getting to Road Trip’s first ending is a fairly simple affair, as you just need to reach the 11th stage, defeat the final boss, and then win a race against Nova Dedede. The true ending is a bit trickier, though, so let’s walk through it.

How To Unlock The True Ending

New Game Plus in Kirby Air Riders.

Once you beat Road Trip for the first time, you’ll unlock New Game Plus mode, which lets you replay the story with all the Machines you unlocked the first time around. This is important, as unlocking the true ending will require finding all 22 Machines. Certain Machines can only be found by taking specific paths through the levels, so you’ll need to replay the mode again and get them all.

That might sound like a lot of work, but Air Riders makes it pretty easy to find the rest of the Machines. In New Game Plus mode, an exclamation mark will appear next to specific paths that directly tells you where to find the remaining Machines. Just take the paths with exclamation marks on them and you should be able to gather the rest on your second playthrough.

It’s worth remembering that certain Machines are actually found in the shop, so make sure you visit it every time it pops up and see if a new Machine is available.

Once you’ve found all of the Machines, you just need to reach the end of the game, which will kick start the true ending’s sequence of events. This has you going up against Hyper Gigantes and then taking on a whole new stage called Journey’s End, which is just a boss rush where you’re riding a very unique machine called Leo.

Journey's End in Kirby Air Ride's Road Trip mode.

Completing Journey’s End brings you to a fairly simple boss battle against Galactic Nova, which just has you running around an arena dodging attacks and hitting a big weak point whenever you get chance. It’s not too difficult once you figure out his attacks, as they’re pretty limited and Leo is a strong Machine to have by your side since he can jump and has good speed.

After that boss fight, you’ll complete Kirby Air Riders and see the true ending in all its glory. For your lengthy efforts, you’ll unlock Noir Dedede, as well as Leo as a Machine if you’ve completed 140 challenges.
