Where Winds Meet: Elder Gongsun Boss Guide
With age comes experience.
Earth Fiend Deity is one such World Boss that you can face early on in the game in Qinghe. However, if you rush into this fight without a plan, you’ll quickly find it next to impossible to continue. Luckily, there’s a simple solution to this fight, which we’ll take a look at below.
Earth Fiend Deity Location
Earth Fiend Deity is found in the Witherwilds in Moonveil Mountains in Qinghe. Head north for about 250 meters from the Tiger Fort Boundary Stone to get to this boss.
Earth Fiend Diety Fight Walkthrough
Before you challenge the Earth Fiend Deity, we highly recommend getting the Cloud Step Mystic Art first. Out of combat, Cloud Step lets you jump around with ease, but in combat, you’ll jump onto an enemy’s head, dealing some damage and knocking over enemies with Unstable Poise. You can get Cloud Step through the Echoes in the Shrine side quest in General’s Shrine in Qinghe.
Earth Fiend Diety will primarily attack by leaping towards you with its claws out, occasionally burrowing underground before rapidly reappearing to hit you when you least expect it. Parry and dodge timing are more important than ever for this fight, so watch the boss’s attacks carefully to get the timing down.
One of Earth Fiend Deity’s most dangerous attacks is also its most punishable. The boss will begin rolling around, repeatedly striking you with its body. This attack has the potential to deal tons of repeated damage. However, you can also parry every single strike of the attack, taking the boss’s Qi gauge down by a lot.
This is even easier if you have Assist Deflection enabled, as it will automatically parry every strike of the attack.
The boss’s most dangerous attack involves it swirling sand around the arena, drawing you towards it. After a few seconds, the boss will perform an attack around itself, dealing massive damage in the area, and most likely one-shotting you. To avoid it, use Cloud Step to knock the boss over and make it vulnerable for a few seconds.
When the boss shouts ‘underground’, it will dive underground before launching into the air and then striking down at you, repeating this a few times in a row. It’s important to get the parry or dodge timing right on this one, as you can easily get in a loop of dodging too late and then getting hit by the next strike.
If the boss digs underground without the voiceline, it will instead reemerge right near you before jumping on your head and slashing at you. This attack can be difficult to avoid, so be prepared to dodge when the boss goes underground.
Earth Fiend Deity will also occasionally envelop itself in a toad spirit, performing belly flops on top of you. Parry just before the boss hits the ground to deflect the attack.
Overall, Earth Fiend Deity is on the easier end of World Bosses, but it will still take some practice to get the dodge and parry timing down on its more erratic attacks. If you’re having trouble, consider lowering the difficulty or summoning other players to help you.
