Once again, some of the biggest sites and services are down, this time because of Cloudflare. While Cloudflare suffers outages, users will struggle to access sites like Twitter, ChatGPT, and Spotify.
Online games are affected too, with outages reported with Valorant and League of Legends. We’re still waiting on many of the affected services to come back online, and until then, you’re unlikely to be able to use them without getting kicked out again.
Cloudflare Is Down, So You Might Get Booted From Valorant And League Of Legends
Cloudflare confirmed the outage earlier today and quickly began work on a fix. It was not immediately clear which sites and services were affected, but as anyone trying to use Twitter today can attest, that was clearly caught up in it, as pages would often not load. Even now, we’re running into issues there, but it is much more usable than it was.
Then, there are the games that are affected. According to Down Detector – which isn’t always the most reliable source, but can give us an idea of what could be affected – Valorant, League of Legends, Among Us, and RuneScape were also down. Looking at social media, I’m not seeing many claim that Among Us is down, so that could be working for most players, but the other games have certainly been caught up in this.
The good news is that Cloudflare reckons it’s rolled out the fix already; it’s just a matter of waiting it out now. “Some customers may be still experiencing issues logging into or using the Cloudflare dashboard,” reads the most recent update. “We are working on a fix to resolve this, and continuing to monitor for any further issues.”
So, the fix is (probably) out, and Cloudflare is still keeping an eye on things. Hopefully, this means it will be a fairly short-lived outage – albeit one that affected some of the biggest sites online. We are starting to see reports on Down Detector drop off, so that could indicate that more users are able to access these games, sites, and services as usual now.
