Arc Raiders Players Think Starter Weapons Are Much Better

Arc Raiders has become one of the most popular releases of the year, surpassing the likes of Battlefield 6 and Call of Duty: Black Ops 7. Many are calling it the next evolution of the extraction shooter genre, offering a fresh formula and a great retro-futuristic vibe. But, like any extraction shooter, it’s as hard as Arc Alloy.

Anything and everything in the game can kill you, from Arcs to other players. Even having great equipment doesn’t keep you safe from getting killed and losing all your loot. It’s still worth wielding a good gun every time you go topside, though, and most players agree that you’re better off with starter weapons.

Arc Raider’s Base Weapons Are Among The Best

If, like me, you find yourself dying and losing your loot too often, you may be wondering if buying or crafting high-end weapons will make things better. Unfortunately, this doesn’t help much if another Raider sneaks up on you and shoots you in the back or if a couple of wasps decide to swarm you.

As pointed out by tiktakboi’s post on Reddit, a lot of players prefer starter weapons like the Kettle and Stitcher to many of the late-game weapons. Once you upgrade the magazine, the Stitcher specifically is great for low-level Arcs and other players. The best part is that it doesn’t cost much to craft, and you can also get it as part of the free gear.

Besides just being great to use, it also doesn’t require the amount of investment and care that a high-level weapon requires. You’re not going to miss it too much if you have a bad round and end up losing it either. You can simply buy a new one from the weapons vendor and upgrade after you’ve collected a decent pile of crafting materials.

On the other hand, if you’re willing to put in the effort and don’t mind losing it, the Torrente LMG is a great high-level weapon. It makes up for its below-average handling stat with a storm of bullets.
