While it hasn’t been officially revealed yet, the latter project has been hiring talent for years now, and it’s believed that this game will release before Horizon 3. It could push the third instalment into being a PS6 title.
Announced within 24 hours of a Ratchet & Clank smartphone spin-off, it’s clear Sony still has interest in bringing its IPs to other platforms.
On the announcement of Horizon Steel Frontiers, studio director at Guerrilla Games, Jan-Bart Van Beek, said:
We already had groups at Guerrilla playing Horizon Steel Frontiers together at the office, and it’s really amazing. Whenever I get a chance to jump in on an early gameplay test, what really stands out is Steel Frontiers’ distinct tone and atmosphere. It has a unique identity of its own, and has been brought to life by NCSOFT’s developers.
