Hi-Fi Rush Soundtrack Removed From Music Streaming Platforms

Hi-Fi Rush Soundtrack Removed From Music Streaming Platforms

Hi-Fi Rush‘s original soundtrack has randomly been delisted from all major music streaming services, including Spotify, Apple Music, and YouTube Music.

When it was originally announced that Xbox was shutting down Tango Gameworks, a lot of Hi-Fi Rush fans were worried about the game eventually being delisted, especially because it has so much licensed music. Those worries were mostly put to rest when Krafton acquired Tango and the Hi-Fi Rush IP, but it seems not everything is straightened out.

For some strange reason, Hi-Fi Rush’s original soundtrack has been completely scrubbed from all major music streaming services, including Spotify, Apple Music, and YouTube Music. It’s not clear why the soundtrack has been removed just yet or whether it’ll be added back, but it’s sent a lot of fans back into a worrying spiral about the first game’s future.

One Of The Most Important Parts Of Hi-Fi Rush Has Been Removed From All Streaming Services

How Will I Get Through My Day Without Hearing The Pulse?!

The removal of Hi-Fi Rush’s soundtrack was first spotted by Redditor Xthebest26 on the Hi-Fi Rush subreddit, who pointed out two days ago that all of the game’s music has been wiped from Spotify without warning. As someone who has a bunch of the game’s songs saved myself, I can confirm they’re all gone as of the time of writing, including the streamer-friendly replacements for the various needle drops.

It’s not just a Spotify issue, either, as the Hi-Fi Rush soundtrack has also been delisted on Apple Music. YouTube Music also doesn’t have Hi-Fi Rush’s soundtrack outside of rips from users, although I can’t confirm whether it was on the platform before now. With that in mind, it’s clearly an issue with the soundtrack itself rather than streaming services.

Tango and Krafton haven’t commented on the soundtrack being removed, so it’s not clear why it’s happened without warning across so many platforms. It’s likely a copyright issue that could stem from the IP changing hands between Xbox and Krafton, so it’ll hopefully be sorted out in the near future, or at least commented on. The soundtrack was distributed by Bethesda on Spotify, so it’s likely just being transferred over to Krafton and Tango.

Considering Hi-Fi Rush still doesn’t have its promised physical release and Krafton recently announced that it was going all-in on AI, it’s yet another worrying sign for the future of the series, even if it does get figured out.
