All Puzzle Solutions In Dracula’s Castle Courtyard

The numbered brick wall puzzle in Escape Simulator 2.

The goal of this room is to find four ‘Moon Keys’ which are used to unlock the very large doors to the back of the area.

How To Solve Gargoyle’s Gambit

The lock of the Truth and Lie puzzle in Dracula's Courtyard in Escape Simulator 2.

The first Moon Key is an easy one to find, simply head to the recess to the left where you’ll find three statements on the wall near a lock to the statues’ left. The lock has a row of symbols on it which correlate to the statements on the wall, and the puzzle requires that you deteremine whether the statements are ‘Mendacium’ or ‘Veritas’, or ‘False’ or ‘True’ (which you can find out using a translation paper on the noticeboard in the opposite corner of the area.

The solution is as follows:

  • Mendacium, Mendacium, Veritas, Mendacium, Mendacium, Veritas

This will unlock a smaller recess which contains the first Moon Key.

How To Solve Infernal Alignment And Key Beneath

This puzzle requires that you first pick up the Shovel, which is leaning against the right-hand wall of the area near the noticeboard. The aim here is to obey the clue given by the paper in the middle of the noticeboard – namely to dig up the buried things in the spots where you can see three flames within the hanging glasses in the area.

The specific locations you need to dig are as follows (in both of these locations, looking up will reveal that you can see three blue flames through as if they were inside the hanging glasses):

  • Just to the right of the noticeboard, about one step away from the pillar on the corner of the wall. This will get you a Mechanical Key.
  • In the centre of the doors to the castle, at the back edge of the fountain. This will get you a chest that you cannot open yet.

Examine the key and pull the lever on it to open it up into a star, and then use this with the chest you just obtained to open it. Once the compartment is slightly open, you can twist the key you just inserted into the chest around to find the second Moon Key.

How To Solve Turning Vault, Runes Of Rotation, And Sin And Salvation

The symbolic dials on the chest in Dracula's Courtyard in Escape Simulator 2.

The wall on the right-hand side of the area has two devices to interact with which will affect how much the numbered bricks will either protrude or sink into the wall, effectively associating the symbols on the devices with certain numbers.

The chest on the floor to the right of this setup has three of these symbols in the centre of dials. Simply use the devices to find out which numbers are associated with these symbols and then interact with the chest’s dials to set them to the associated numbers.

The solution for the chest is: II, IV, VI. This will open the chest and get you two new Mechanical Keys, which you’ll use with the next puzzle.

Using the mechanical key on the statues in Dracula's Courtyard in Escape Simulator 2.

The next step involves the two statues near the gate to the area. On the pedestals beneath each statue are circles that you can insert the Mechanical Keys you just received.

The solution here is to use the Mechanical Keys that will allow you, when you twist them around after inserting them, will create an unbroken circle around the outside of the spokes of the dial.

  • The Mechanical Key with a large semi-circle on it should be used with the demon statue’s dial.
  • The Mechanical Key with the two spokes on it should be used with the angel statue’s dial.

Completing this puzzle will get you a key and two statuettes. Use the key to open the locked door to the left-hand side of the area to find the final puzzle of this section.

The statuette puzzle in Dracula's Courtyard in Escape Simulator 2.

Here, you simply need to decode the riddle posed by the table inside the room. Working out which gates are associated with heaven or hell can be easily solved by looking at the gates in the very room that you’re in and compare them to the gates on the table.

To solve this puzzle, place the angel statuette in the third space from the left on the top row, and the demon statuette just beneath that one. This will net you the third Moon Key.

How To Solve Wagon Escape, Burning Message, And Workman’s Secret

The arrangement of the heads through a cleaned window in Dracula's Courtyard in Escape Simulator 2.

To get inside the carriage in the middle of the area, you’ll need to first head to the side of it opposite the locked door and rub the window to remove the dirt here, which will reveal the setup of the icons used to break the lock.

For reference, the correct setup for the moving components of the lock is as follows:

  • The top row should be empty.
  • The second row should have the lions facing outwards, with the tops of their heads facing each other.
  • The third row should have the goats facing outwards, with the tops of their heads facing each other.
  • The bottom row should face the lion facing forwards.

Inside the carriage, pick up the key and the flask.

Now, head to the chest opposite the small room that contained the statuette puzzle. Pick up the sheet of paper that sits on top of the chest and pin this to your screen. This paper contains a key that will help you understand a symbolic code used by a pair of moving fires that you can see in the windows above the door to the castle by standing near the exit gates.

The coded message is as follows: HELP. Use the dials on this chest’s lock to open it and find a few items. The Stake is the only thing you need here.

Now, head to the chest on the back of the carriage. Use the key from inside it to open it up and reveal that the inside contains three compartments on which you should place specific items. Specifically, you need:

  • The flask from inside the carriage.
  • The stake you just received from the previous puzzle.
  • The hammer, which is found on the bench underneath the noticeboard in the area.

This will get you a mirror.

How To Solve Guiding Reflection And Echoes Of Truth

A bird's eye view showing one of the glowing glyphs in Dracula's Courtyard in Escape Simulator 2.

This final puzzle requires that you use the mirror to find four symbols which are used with the four movable panels around the fountain in the centre of the area.

These symbols can only be seen with a bird’s eye view, though to access this is something of an odd mechanic. First, zoom in on the mirror you obtained in the previous section, and then click on it to enter the bird’s eye view mode. Using this, you can walk around the area to find four glowing symbols that will match up with the four corners of the fountain.

Move the portholes on the movable panels to reveal the associated glowing symbols to summon a Latin-speaking spirit who will quiz you. You can use the book found inside the bag on top of the fountain to translate the spirit’s speech.

The answers you’ll need to complete this puzzle are as follows (note that the questions are not always asked in this order):

Question

Quid est inimicus ignis?

Aqua

Ubi sunt falco?

Caelum

Answering correctly will get you the final Moon Key!

How To Escape The Courtyard With The Moon Keys

The moon keys in the final doors in Dracula's Courtyard in Escape Simulator 2.

The final step to this room is to insert the four Moon Keys into the slots you can find in the door to the castle.

When you insert a Moon Key into a receptacle, it may move into a certain direction – when the correct Moon Key is used, the top of the key should be facing outwards; you shouldn’t be able to see the side of the key at all. Simply swap the keys around until you reach the correct configuration, which will end the level!
