In PowerWash Simulator 2, the gnomes have returned to invade the levels you need to clean. Most of the 38 locations will have a gnome in them, and while there isn’t a huge long-running achievement to move to them all, there are several achievements linked to them and it’s also fun to try and spot them all.
Some of the gnomes are obvious, others are well hidden, and there are even levels with multiple gnomes to find and a couple with none at all. We take a look at where to find all the gnomes in each location of both story and free play mode, how to get to them, and how to complete any related achievements.
Why Are There Gnomes?
The gnomes are a reference to the first game, where they appeared on every level. However, in this sequel the gnomes are mostly here for fun. You can still find and move them during most of the levels. This allows you to take screenshots and complete achievements.
The gnome-based achievements are specific to certain levels this time around, and we’ve included instructions on how to get them in the section for the relevant location.
All PowerWash Simulator 2 achievements can be completed in story or free play mode. The only exception is the achievement for completing story mode.
Home Base
In your home base you’ll find the first gnome. After entering through the front door, go up the metal staircase in front of you. The door at the top will be open.
Go through the door into the first room with the map, sofas, and desk. Turn around to face the door you just walked through. The gnome is behind this door.
How To Complete Gnome From Home
To complete the Gnome From Home achievement, approach the door and point your powerwasher at the door before moving it until you can see the Open Door option.
Press the appropriate button to open the door. You should then be able to aim at the gnome and choose the option to pick it up and complete the achievement.
Removals Van
In front of the removal van, across the path, is a small bunch of trees and bushes. Cross the path to find the gnome behind a bush directly ahead of the van.
You can pick up this gnome, but there is no specific achievement relating to gnomes in this level. However, you will get one for completing the job.
Public Facility
The gnome here is over to the left up in the window above the awning. You can get to the gnome to move it by placing the ladder in front of the awning. From here, jump from the ladder to the awning to collect the gnome.
There are no achievements on this level.
Campsite
The gnome in this level is hidden down a path. Go towards your van and move down the path you are parked on. You’ll see the gnome on the left-hand side behind a log.
There is a hidden job here. Cleaning the lanterns first using the red nozzle will unlock the Hit the Lights achievement.
In this level, you can see the gnome but cannot get close enough to pick it up.
Art Deco House
There are no gnomes and no hidden jobs in this level.
Dog Car
From the dog car, turn around to face the home base. Move forward, and you’ll see the gnome on the left behind the furthest pillar of the building. You can collect this gnome and move it.
The hidden job here is to entirely cover the dog car in soap, so every part is soaped up and the Doggy Bath achievement is completed.
Billboard
The billboard is another level with no gnomes and no specific achievements.
Teapot Tea Room
This is the most important level for gnomes, since there is a hidden job here that uses them. There six gnomes in total and you can find them:
- In front of the teapot to the left of the doorway.
- In front of the teapot to the right of the doorway.
- By the water directly in front of where you spawn into the level.
- To the right of the teapot near the logs by the trees.
- In the trees to your left – you’ll need to turn left to see this one across from the table, near the van.
- On the roof on the opposite side to the spout – Use the scissor lift to get up to it.
Collect all six gnomes and place them by the tables.
When bringing down the gnome from the roof, place it on the scissor lift and send the lift down and then back up as high as you can to get the Rise and Shine achievement. The gnome must be placed on the platform, not just held in your hand.
How To Complete The Tea Time Hidden Job
To get the Tea Time achievement, you’ll need to hover over the gnomes and then use the appropriate key/button to pick them up. Take each one over to the table and then use the same button to place them on a chair.
Hover over the chair and press the button when the gnome is as close to the seat as possible and showing as a coloured image. If it appears as a white silhouette, it won’t be placable.
Once you have a gnome on every seat, you will get the achievement. They don’t need to be exactly upright, but they must be on the seat itself.
Shooting Gallery
The shooting gallery has no gnomes to spot. However, if you clean the bigfoot target first, you’ll get the Where’s Woolly? achievement.
Road Sweeper
The gnome here is directly across the road on the bench. However, you’ll have to move to spot him, since your direct line from the sweeper has a tree in the way.
Walk across the road, and you’ll see him on the bench directly opposite the sweeper and public facilities.
Gas Station
The gnome here is hiding on the roof. To get up there, place the long ladder up against the tallest wall, just right of the service sign. Climb up, and you’ll see the gnome sunning himself behind the gas station sign.
You’ll also see a playground with a football on it behind the gas station. Use your powerwasher to roll the ball along the bridge and down the slide to get the Drop the Ball achievement.
Bandstand
There are no gnomes here. However, if you clean the hatch in the middle of the floor last, you’ll get the Hatching a Plan achievement.
Mobility Scooter
The gnome in this level is across the road from the mobility scooter, just behind a small bush directly across from the edge of the home base building.
When you spawn in, look at the taller bush, just to the right of where you are looking. The gnome is behind here and can be moved, although there isn’t an achievement for doing so.
Nouveau House
The gnome at the nouveau house is in the bushes to the left of the house, between the van and the house itself. This one is easy to find but doesn’t have an achievement associated with it.
Airship
To see the gnome in the airship level, you need to use the scaffolding to get onto the top of the airship. If you look out towards the bandstand and river, you’ll see the gnome in the middle of the bandstand.
This gnome cannot be picked up and is just here for fun.
Cement Mixer
The gnome here is above the cave entrance, across to the right of the cement mixer. You’ll need to go towards the cave and look up in order to see it.
This gnome cannot be picked up and has no associated achievement.
Farm
To find the gnome on the farm, turn towards the windmill on the right-hand side. You’ll need to head over to the building where there are some hay bales on the left. The gnome can be found half hidden by the fence.
There are no achievements here.
Stone Circle
The stone circle doesn’t have a gnome. However, if you jump onto the shortest platform on either the left or right, and then parkour around all six platforms and the archway without touching the floor in between, you’ll get The Floor Is Lava achievement.
You can restart this hidden job if you need, and you don’t need to worry about the flat platform at the front, just the pillars and archway from one side to the other.
Rock Climbing Park
There are no gnomes on the rock climbing level. However, you can clean the Pterodactlyl on top first to claim the Flying Start achievement.
Roller Disco
The gnome here is just to your right, sitting back in the booth waiting to be found. You can pick him up and get him to DJ, but the Make It Shine achievement on this level is for cleaning the glitterball before anything else.
Tractor
This gnome is hiding off towards the right of the farmhouse again. However, this time he’s further left behind the car on the other side of the fence. You can see him, but you can’t pick him up.
There are no achievements here either.
Temple Interior
This is a multi-stage job, and you won’t be able to get to the gnome until after you’ve cleaned the interior of the temple. Once you’ve scrubbed the walls, floors, and windows, you’ll see the finishing touches list, as if the job is ending.
Clean everything on this list, then move back to see the pattern in the middle of the floor recede to reveal a staircase. Go down the stairs and there is a gnome directly in front of you.
The Deep Lore achievement will be completed as the temple floor opens up.
Car & Trailer
This is another level with an out-of-reach gnome. This time it can be found behind the trailer on top of the art deco house, which you’ll remember from an earlier level.
The level specific achievement here is called Message Received and comes from cleaning the satellite dish first.
Theatre
As you enter the theatre, head towards the stage and then turn around to face the seats. You’ll find the gnome sat comfortably in the front row. He won’t do much, but if you clean this row first you’ll get the Front Row Seats achievement.
Motel
There isn’t a gnome at the motel, at least not yet. However, if you clean just the front door, number and handle of all six doors before anything else, you can get the Door to Door achievement.
Be careful so that you do not complete cleaning the door mat or any part of the frame. You want to get just the coloured door, as well as the number and handle on it. The order doesn’t matter.
Mini Roller Coaster
To find the gnome here you need to turn to your left so you can see the scaffolding and ladders. The gnome is hiding just out of site on the ledge around the stall next to the scaffolding.
Walk past the scaffolding and turn left to find and pick up the gnome. While there’s no achievement for this, you can take him on a ride on the minicoaster with you, and you’ll get the Ticket To RTide achievement.
Only you have to ride the coaster for the achievement, but it’s more fun with a friend or a gnome.
Solar System Exhibit
The gnome here can only be seen by moving back against the wall, or climbing onto one of the planets. This is because he is sat chilling on the ring which sits above the sun in the middle.
He doesn’t have an achievement, but if you know the order of the planets, you can clean them in the correct order, starting at the sun, for the Cosmic Ordering achievement.
Streetcar
The streetcar is a boring level with no gnomes and no achievements.
Salvage House
Not only does the salvage house look unique and cool, but it also has a gnome up in the chimney! To get to him, you’ll need to climb up the side of the house by going up the stairs and then using the ladder.
There are no achievements specific to this level.
Mining Dumpster
The mining dumpster level just has a well hidden gnome. To see it you’ll need to head into the mining tunnel in front of the dumpster’s cabin. Walk down as far as you can to see the gnome on the right hiding by the wall on the corner.
Fun House
The fun house level is great to clean, but its gnome isn’t reachable. You can find him chilling on a bench in the distance behind where you enter the level.
However, you can get an achievement called Glissando by climbing to the second floor before hitting all the piano keys in order with your powerwasher. There’s also an achievement called Spin Doctor, which you can get for cleaning the rotating floor discs with the surface cleaner.
Ski Center
In order to find the gnome in the ski centre, you first need to get out of the ski lift. To do this, complete the first part of the multi-level challenge which is cleaning the inside of the cable car.
Once this is done, the door will open and you can head outside. Go down the left-hand side of the building, and you’ll see the gnome at the end of the path, chilling on a sunbed. Feel free to move him, but there isn’t an achievement here.
To find the gnome here, turn around to face the other way, and you’ll immediately see him sat on a bench in front of you. If you wish you can go and move him, but once more there isn’t an achievement for doing so.
The mall has no gnomes to be found. However, cleaning the owl statue first will give you the Wise Decision achievement.
Futuristic Bike
The futuristic bike level hides a gnome who is sat outside the gas station across the road. Sadly. he is too far away and there are no other achievements here.
Theater Sets
Similarly, the theater sets level has an unreachable gnome and no other achievements. This time, the gnome is up in the projection booth and can be spotted by looking up at the back wall towards the ceiling.
18 Wheeler
The 18 wheeler doesn’t have a gnome driver, or a level specific achievement. However, you can spot a visitor on the top balcony of the now clean motel across the road.
Town Floats
The gnome on the town floats level can be found by walking past the floats to the back of the parade. From here turn left to see a gnome chilling at the bus stop.
The achievement for this specific level is called Squeaky Clean, and it requires you to clean the mouse last.
Mount Rushless
On this final level there are two gnomes outside the entrance to Mount Rushless. Once in the level, turn around and you’ll see one in the large tree on the left, and another to the right, behind the mobility scooter.
The achievement here is for clearing this level, and thus the entire story mode.
