EA Partners With Tactical Clothing Brand For New Battlefield 6 Skins

It looks like EA and DICE have listened to player feedback for new Battlefield 6 skins as it has announced today that it will be partnering with tactical clothing brand 5.11 for upcoming cosmetics. 5.11 is a global brand that produces clothing to “enhance the safety, accuracy, speed, and performance of tactical professionals and technical enthusiasts worldwide.”

This is a pretty sizable difference from Call Of Duty’s recent sponsorship deals, which included cosmetics from companies like Monster Energy. According to the press release, the partnership will include: “In-game cosmetics, co-branded merchandise and sweepstakes are set to roll out in the weeks following release.”

More Grounded Battlefield 6 Skins On The Way?

This partnership announcement follows recent community discussion about the planned skins for Season 1 of Battlefield 6. Fans have been left feeling betrayed as early skins feature neon stripes and goofy-looking skeleton decals, which steps away from the promise of more “grounded” Battlefield cosmetics compared to the Santa Claus silliness in Battlefield 2042.

We might be in for a change with future cosmetics, however. 5.11 is a tactical clothing brand which supplies workwear and tactical gear worldwide. Just a brief glance at the website and there’s no other color than grey, black or brown in sight, and a variety of military gear including gun covers, ammo pouches, and military fatigues.

It’s not clear how large of a partnership this will be or how these cosmetics will be available. This will likely run with Season 1 as part of the new cosmetic store that is probably planned for the start of the season — there is currently no cosmetic store in-game.

This will presumably be separate from the upcoming Season 1 battle pass and the cosmetics available there, and so far we haven’t heard whether DICE will adjust the newly announced skins to tone down some of the colours or make them more realistic.

Season 1 of Battlefield 6 starts on October 28, alongside the assumed shadowdrop of the Battlefield 6 Battle Royale.
