Digimon Story Time Stranger is a narrative-driven JRPG that sees you collecting Digimon and traveling through time to save the world. Throughout your journey, you’ll encounter a variety of bosses that will stand in your way, many of which will be Titans, the game’s primary group of antagonists.
Ogremon, Fugamon, and Hyogamon are three such Titans, and you’ll encounter them shortly after entering the Digital World for the first time. Below, you can find everything you need to know about this boss fight, including each of the trio’s weaknesses and attacks they’ll use, as well as Digimon we recommend bringing to the fight.
You’ll fight this trio a second time later in the game, but you can use the same strategy for both fights.
Ogremon, Fugamon, And Hyogamon’s Strengths, Weaknesses, And Attacks
Ogremon, Fugamon, and Hyogamon each have different elemental strengths and weaknesses, but they are all Virus-attribute Digimon, so they’re all weak to Vaccine-attribute Digimon. Keep this in mind when building your team.
Additionally, Ogremon is weak to Fire and Earth, Fugamon is weak to Water and Ice, and Hyogamon is weak to Fire and Steel.
Throughout the fight, Ogremon will use Pummel Whack, dealing Dark physical damage to one of your Digimon, lowering their accuracy. Consider using status-restoring skills like Meditator to remove this debuff if you find your attacks missing too frequently.
Fugamon will attack with Wolkenapalm I, dealing Fire physical damage to one target, and Evil Hurricane, dealing Wind physical damage to your whole party. Similarly, Hyogamon will use Snow Punch, dealing Ice physical damage to one target, and Diamond Dust I, dealing Ice physical damage to the whole party.
Shortly into the fight, Minervamon will join your team, occasionally attacking with Strike Roll, which deals a decent amount of damage to one target. Then, after a few more turns, Aegiomon will learn Stun Beat Blow, which deals increased damage to Titans and has a chance to inflict Paralysis. This will be your go-to attack for Aegiomon for the remainder of the battle.
Finally, a bit later, Coronomon will start attacking with Corona Flame, dealing Fire physical damage to one of the Titans.
Your strategy for this fight will be to take down the Titans one at a time. When either Fugamon or Hyogamon are defeated, Ogremon will have its DEF and SPI lowered, making it easier to defeat. Make use of your Cross Arts to take down either Fugamon or Hyogamon first, then focus on Ogremon last.
Recommended Digimon To Use
Since all three of these enemies are weak to Vaccine Digimon, building your team is pretty straightforward. For the first battle against this trio, you should have access to Champion-Generation Digimon.
We recommend using Greymon and Strikedramon for Fire damage, Sorcermon and Mojyamon for Ice damage, and Leomon for Earth damage. If you don’t have access to Champion-Generation Digimon yet, you can use almost any of the Digimon that come before these ones in the evolution tree; Agumon, Gomamon, and Monodramon in particular are good picks.
Make use of Attachment Skills to give yourself more elemental coverage for this boss fight. Since you’re facing three Digimon with different weaknesses, you’ll want to make sure to cover all your bases. Fire, Earth, and Ice attacks will cover all three of their weaknesses, so bring Attachment Skills with these elements if your Digimon don’t already have them.
The next time you fight Ogremon, Fugamon, and Hyogamon, you might have access to your first few Ultimate-Generation Digimon. However, you can realistically take the same Digimon from before and do fine during this battle. At the very least, building your team with the same philosophy is more than enough for round two.
