The several niche reasons you gave that favor your tastes are largely irrelevant to most people as you can see by the comment sections.
Premium besides being name in such a way, barely offers any premium for its value.
It’s much more expensive than extra and it drip feeds a few classics per year, even though Sony’s catalogue is massive, it offers streaming which barely anyone uses. Finally it offers demos, and that actually adds value to the proposition, but it hardly justified its pricing.
Fact of the matter is, Premium is good price proposition for you , not the majority of people.
Your annoyance comes from the dissonance of your viewpoint and most people’s views, but you’re clearly not the general opinion and Sony should listen to others if they want to keep their service at a good value.
