Endless mode in Anno 117: Pax Romana has, as the name suggests, endless opportunities to create different types of worlds. Some could offer a rich and vast map full of fertile land, while others can challenge you by restricting resources and space.
The map seed you generate determines which island you settle on first on your chosen map, giving you a choice of resources to plunder for profit. Here are some of the best and most challenging map seeds you can generate in Anno 117: Pax Romana.
1
Best Map Seeds In Anno 117
You can only generate a map seed in Anno 117 in Endless Mode, where you have complete control over where you begin your game, what rivals you have nearby, and how difficult your game will be.
To use the suggested map seeds below, choose Endless Mode, and then choose your Difficulty. For these map seeds, we are using Advanced difficulty. If you choose a different difficulty, your map layout will be similar, but your starting island may be different.
Go to Game World to change the map settings and enter the map seed number. The key thing to remember about generating maps in Anno 117, is that they don’t have massive variation in layout. The differences really come from the map type, the resources the islands provide, and the difficulty settings you choose.
Try out different island types and see which you prefer to play on, as they offer slightly different strategies.
You can decide what island type you spawn into, with each one offering a slightly different layout:
- Atoll: islands are positioned around the edges of the map, with a large expanse of water in the center.
- Archipelago: there are four centrally positioned, larger islands with smaller islands near the edge.
- Rift: this layout provides two separate hemispheres, but is similar to an Atoll layout.
- Corners: large islands are spawned in each corner, with a few smaller islands scattered about the center.
- Island Chain: a chain of islands that run through the center of the map.

Best Challenging Latium Seed
- Layout: Island Chain
- Size: Small
- Fertilities And Lodes: Sparse
- Forest: Sparse
- Slots: Sparse
- Seed Number: 3492
Anyone can run a successful empire when their starting island is full of expensive resources ready for growing and mining, but only the best governors can make something great from nothing at all.
This island seed is created for those of you who want to challenge yourselves. There are very few mountain and river slots, the islands are small with sparse resources, and the enemies are uncomfortably close by.
Your starting island has some small forest areas, is capable of growing Lavender, and there are a few slots to mine Marble, Minerals, and Gold Ore, but that is it. You will have to create strong trade links with other governors and conquer nearby islands to get the resources you need.
3
Best Challenging Albion Seed
- Layout: Atoll
- Size: Small
- Fertilities And Lodes: Sparse
- Forest: Sparse
- Slots: Sparse
- Seed Number: 7662
Albion can be a damp and dreary place, and it always seems to be raining. This map seed spawns you with a small island near an ally, with a large expanse between you and another trade partner. Other small islands are scattered around the edges, with a few potential trade partners or enemies located there.
This map takes a lot of work to become successful, especially with the Scathatch only a stone’s throw away. Diplomatic relations are a must, and some very clever trade deals must be struck to ensure your island’s population grows and expands to other islands nearby.
Your island is fertile with Herbs, Saltworth, Small Birds, and Copper; unfortunately, none of which is particularly needed by your current allies. Build your relationships to ensure you secure the best trade deals and generate some revenue!
Before starting your new game, change the Revealed Map setting in Game Start to see the entire map uncovered.

Best Latium Seed For Abundance
- Layout: Archipelago
- Size: Large
- Fertilities And Lodes: Abundant
- Forest: Abundant
- Slots: Abundant
- Seed Number: 117
To start your game comfortably, a large archipelago map seed is a great choice. This Latium map starts you off on one of the four large islands in the center of the map, with rivals nearby on similarly large islands who can offer trade deals rich in helpful resources.
Your ally is on a small island to the east, with a trade request for pigs, allowing you to farm and export regularly. To save on producing timber, you can import from that ally instead, leaving your land free to produce more expensive materials.
This island is fertile in Lavender, Grape, Flax, Murex Snails, Iron, and Gold Ore, with river and mountain slots in a large number of spaces.
5
Best Albion Seed For Abundance
- Layout: Archipelago
- Size: Large
- Fertilities And Lodes: Abundant
- Forest: Abundant
- Slots: Abundant
- Seed Number: 7008
Archipelago map seeds provide a good, even distribution of four large islands around the map, with some smaller islands available for conquest along the edges. Your abundance of resources can lend itself well to trading with allies to start with, especially the local Albion ally, who usually needs Barley and Reed Shoes.
The even and spacious layout gives you the chance to sail for trade without long, arduous journeys. This also helps with the takeover of some of the smaller islands near the edges.
This island is rich in Barley, Flax, Beavers, Iron, Copper, and Silver, allowing plenty of opportunities for trade with other governors.
6
Best Latium Balanced Seed
- Layout: Atoll
- Size: Small
- Fertilities And Lodes: Abundant
- Forest: Regular
- Slots: Abundant
- Seed Number: 5636
With many small islands to play with, this seed can be a lot of fun. There are three larger, occupied islands, and a bunch of other islands just waiting to be discovered.
Your enemy is tucked away in the corner on the opposite side of the map, so it will take some time for his ships to sail to you. Potential trade partners and allies are nearby for ease of trade.
Your spawn island is fertile with Mackerel, Grape, Flax, Sturgeon, Iron, and Gold Ore. The fishing fertility means you have more space on the mainland for farming and production of other items, with river and mountain slots for metal mines.
7
Best Albion Strategy Seed
- Layout: Rift
- Size: Regular
- Fertilities And Lodes: Abundant
- Forest: Sparse
- Slots: Abundant
- Seed Number: 1151
The rift map seeds are interesting as they are split directly into two hemispheres, with an empty strip of water down the middle. You have allies nearby, with a couple of potential trade partners on the other side.
What makes this interesting is the danger within the empty central space. Two trade partners are across that space, and right near an enemy island run by the volatile Scathatch. Every time your ships take that journey, they risk running into ships from the Island of Voada.
As risky as it can be, that is balanced out by the fruitful resources of your island. There, you can grow Herbs or raise Small Birds and Ponies. There are also plenty of mining opportunities, as the mountains and rivers are abundant with Iron, Copper, and Silver. Invest your profits into a hardy battle fleet, and the entire map should be quickly under your control.
