It’s time for the next PS Store sale to get started. The PlayStation Indies sale is live right now, and runs through to 3rd September 2025.
As always, there are thousands of games included, so browsing for the best stuff can be a little tricky.
We’re here to help, though; in this list, we have a slightly more digestible batch of recommendations we reckon are worth paying up for.

Arranger: A Role-Puzzling Adventure is a delightfully inventive puzzle game that weaves in a neat narrative to pull you through. Playing as a character that literally moves the world around her as she goes, this is effectively a series of slide puzzles set within a fleshed out world full of whimsical character. Always building on its core idea in imaginative ways, this is brilliant fun from start to finish.

Before Your Eyes makes the most of PSVR2 to deliver a real emotional gut punch. Using the tech’s eye-tracking feature, this narrative-focused experience changes the scene whenever you physically blink. Through a mix of abstract environments, a well-written human tale, and a truly excellent spatial audio mix, this is a PSVR2 title that’ll force you to take off the headset and wipe away some tears.

Broken Sword: Shadow of the Templars is a sacred text in the history of point-and-click adventure games, and new remaster Reforged is the best version of the game that’s ever been released. Quality-of-life improvements mean players who just want to enjoy the story without too much lateral thinking can do so, while veterans of the genre or returning fans can play the game in its original form, goats and all. Paris in the fall has never been more beautiful.

If you’re looking for a breather after those big, violent blockbusters, Chicory: A Colorful Tale is a perfect antidote. This charming indie game will pull you in with its adorable characters and cartoonish aesthetic, but it pairs all that with compelling gameplay and a touching story. You wield a magical brush with which you can paint the environment however you see fit, and you’ll also use colour to solve puzzles and even fight bosses, solo or in co-op. An imaginative and heartfelt game.

Death’s Door isn’t doing anything particularly original, but everything presented here is just so well crafted. The game is an isometric action adventure, starring you as a reaper crow who must venture out and calm the lost souls that haunt the land. The world created here is a fascinating one, designed in an almost Dark Souls-like way; it intertwines with itself and pockmarks each area with baddies to fend off. The combat is straightforward but satisfying, and the presentation is really strong throughout. It might not break the mould, but this unassuming game puts its best talon forward.

It’s rare games let us be the villain, but Rebellion’s Evil Genius 2: World Domination is all about that life. By building an underground lair and filling it with all kinds of dastardly contraptions, you’ll be able to instruct your minions to do your evil bidding, with your ultimate goal being to take over the world. This fun spy-fi inspired sequel expands on its novel concept with plenty of head-scratching strategy systems, and the best part of all is that it doesn’t cost one billion dollars to buy.

Forgotton Anne is a truly memorable and unique adventure title. Set in a land where forgotten objects become sentient beings, this is a cinematic puzzle platformer with wonderful animation that’ll sweep you away into a magical world.

A touching sci-fi love story, Haven is about a young couple who flee to an alien planet together. Portrayed through a vibrant art style and elevated by a stunning electronic soundtrack, this is a memorable adventure, and a sharp reminder that we need more tales of surprisingly mature romance in video games. Between its generally relaxing, floaty exploration and rhythm-based battle system, Haven does have a few slightly rough edges — but don’t let that turn you away from the power of love.

The pulsating soundtrack, the acid trip visuals, the unapologetic gore — Hotline Miami is a game that’s been copied but never truly replicated. A modern classic, this top-down mobster murder-‘em-up is brutal in more ways than one. It’s a thrill ride from the word go, and a must-play for anyone who considers themselves an adrenaline junkie.

Inside is 2D platforming perfection, but it’s the ending that we all remember it for. After two or so hours of impressive puzzle-solving and hints that something isn’t quite right, the game goes off the rails with a 20-minute sequence that is perhaps one of the most memorable of the PS4 generation. An incredible game that has cemented Playdead’s position among the gaming greats.

Knights and Bikes is an adorable action adventure about two best friend kids exploring their island home. Playable solo or in local co-op, this title is all about Nessa and Demelza’s appetite for adventure and trouble, with the presentation effectively showcasing their wild imaginations and freewheeling sense of fun.

Before Inside, developer Playdead made Limbo. This game arrived just as the indie boom was really starting to take off, and with its unique presentation and minimalist storytelling, it was a big success. You play as a young boy in this 2D puzzle platformer, tasking you with moving from screen to screen by overcoming environmental obstacles. It’s all very eerie, with its black-and-white visuals and haunting music. Inside is generally considered the better game overall, but it wouldn’t exist without Limbo.
